Overview
The Preparative Module 6100 is a combination module consisting of up to three single modules: Smartline Pump 100 plus a multiport switching valves located on the front and side of the unit.
The single instruments as well as the power supply are located in a single housing which easily integrates into either a Smartline tower or a Prepline system.
The operation and control of the individual units is not affected by the integration into the module.
Sample Dosing System
The HPLC Pump 100 can be equipped with different pump heads for maximum flow rates of 10 or 50 ml/minute in either stainless steel or, for biocompatible applications, titanium materials.
This pump can be used for injection of samples into a preparative system, either directly or via a sample loop, in both cases a switching valve isolates the pump from the system itself.
Fraction Collection
Fraction collection is realised using the multiport valve located on the side of the module. Valves with either 6, 12 or 16 outlet ports are available. Using the fraction collection control software option from Knauer permits solvent recycling and fraction collection based on either time (volume), signal level, signal slope or even spectral similarity.
Specifications
The actual overall performance specifications of these systems depend to a large extent on the application itself and the actual system configuration. Flowspek AG offers a validation service for the system which will check all agreed specifications for the component modules and ensures that these are all functioning correctly within their specifications. The scope of any validation is usually agreed with our customers and then controlled validation document created.
